It is well known that grossing is one of the pillar steps in the specimen preparation toward pathology diagnosis, however this procedure often relies on inaccurate approaches and uses obsolete tools. Over the years, traditional grossing stations have been incrementally improved, but never offered a breakthrough approach to this pivotal step. UltraGROSS opens a new era of the grossing devices: for the first time ever the grossing station becomes a scientific tool. With the UltraGROSS, the pathologist generates full documentation and ensures complete traceability of the grossing, maintaining intact the chain of custody. This new scientific tool incorporates several innovations that have a direct impact on the laboratory and its workflow.

ENHANCED USER SAFETY

Specimens fixation still relies on formalin for the majority of the laboratories and the grossing step needs to be performed in safe conditions, to avoid any exposure for the operator. The UltraGROSS offers a formalin-free working area via a horizontally sliding safety shield with a 30Åã angled front in combination with the powerful downdraft and backdraft exhaust. User safety is also ensured through an automatic bio-decontamination system that sterilizes the surface through a dedicated solution with germicidal and virucidal efficacy. The UltraGROSS has been built from scratch to comply with all the highest safety standards.

TAILOR-MADE MODULARITY

The UltraGROSS is design around your todays and future routine. Its exclusive modularity enables to move the stainless-steel modules across the entire basin without the need of service engineer. Each operator can easily change the set up of his working area, placing the sink and the cutting board in his desired position. A single basin is placed underneath and can be used for the cleaning of extremely large samples.

MACRO DIGITAL DOCUMENTATION

Documentation and traceability are key in any modern lab and the UltraGROSS accommodates these requirements with the most advanced macro digital tool, the MacroPATH. Its features enable the operator to fully track the grossing procedure to enhance patient safety.

OPTMAL ERGONOMICS

The comfort of the operator directly impacts the entire workflow and therefore the lab efficiency. The UltraGROSS incorporates up-to-date features to match the operator habits and needs. The adjustment of the working area is always at the operator’s fingertips via the user interface. Moreover, the UltraGROSS can be moved and reinstalled in just few minutes thanks to the sturdy casters with safety blocks and fast connections for water, power, exhaust, and Ethernet.

SMART USER INTERFACE

All the parameters are always available at a fingertip and under control via the smart touch screen terminal. Additional files, such as SOPs, grossing guidelines of AAPA and tutorial training videos can be quickly uploaded via USB.
